Online Talk: Arnhem and the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry

"A tale you will tell your grandchildren……”

This is the story of the men of the county regiment who fought and died at Arnhem in September 1944.

Among the soldiers of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry that would serve at Arnhem with the Parachute Regiment, there is a Victoria Cross in this story and we shall meet the officer you will remember from the film ‘A Bridge too Far’ who was armed with an umbrella at Arnhem as well as other tales of courage, fortitude and sheer luck.

Time too to salute the skill and daring of the men of the Glider Pilot Regiment, and the outstanding bravery of the local Dutch population who found themselves caught up in the aftermath of this battle.
