Our Collections
Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum looks after three key military history collections for the region.
These archives and objects are the property of three bodies: the Trustees of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, the Trustees of the Oxfordshire Yeomanry and Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust. SOFO Museum holds a collection of over 3,500 objects and 7,500 archive items from two county regiments, the Queens Own Oxfordshire Hussars (QOOH) and the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
Oxfordshire's military heritage ranges from the Civil War to the present day, covering the Napoleonic War, the Boer War and the two World Wars, in which every village was involved.
The archives and objects are important tools in researching, explaining and understanding this history.
Do you have something you would like to donate to the museum?
While we're always happy to consider new objects for the museum collection, please do not bring object donations in to the museum, or send them by post, unless pre-arranged with a member of staff.
