The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum recognises the contribution that Service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country.
We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:
• Promoting the fact that we are an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
• Providing volunteer opportunities including insight days to Veterans young and old.
• Providing volunteer opportunities including insight days to Service spouses and partners.
• Seeking to support our employees and volunteers who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible.
• Offering support to our local Cadet units, either in our local community or in local schools, where possible.
• Organising, facilitating and promoting remembrance and other ceremonial activities.
• Support and promoting Armed Forces events such as Armed Forces Day, the Poppy Appeal & Remembrance activities.
• Providing regular Veterans activities that creates an Armed Forces Network for and with the museum.
• Promoting an understanding in the wider community of the role of the Armed Forces through our exhibitions, events and outreach programmes.
