Help us to bring history to life

Our vision is to create an exciting window into the past for all of our visitors, young and old, inspiring you with stories of the county, the people who lived here, of soldiers, their families, and of the historic conflicts that impacted them. By becoming a Patron of the Museum you can help us to continue to acquire, conserve and educate future generations about Oxfordshire’s military heritage.

We want to make the objects and stories we hold at the museum as accessible as possible.

Our collections don’t just tell the story of our past, they help us to better understand the world today. Studying and understanding these collections can help us consider the impact of the choices we make today. Through our collections we can reflect on the role we play in our community, our work, our leisure, and our life – how we are all connected.

That is why the stories held by our collections are important and need to be heard.

We would be honoured if you would consider becoming a Patron of the Museum through an annual donation of £250. Your support would provide a reliable source of funding for our educational programmes, exhibitions, collections care, and community outreach, ensuring that future generations can continue to learn from and be inspired by the experiences of Oxfordshire's soldiers. As a Patron, you would join a distinguished group of supporters whose generosity helps safeguard this important legacy for years to come

What can Patronage enable?

• Allow us to continue to host high-profile exhibitions like Lee Miller and E. H. Shepard while also developing temporary exhibitions from our own collections and working in collaboration with others who share our aims and values, such as Children & Military Lives and Life Lines (inspired by an act of kindness at the liberation of Bergen-Belsen by the Oxfordshire Yeomanry)

• Support our work actively collecting, cataloguing, conserving and digitising our growing collection of over 11,000 archival records, oral histories and objects - connecting with our communities to preserve this heritage for new generations and making them more accessible

• Allow us to bring to life an annual creative project that reflects the wide effects of conflict for serving military, home front life and displaced communities.

Sign up today for just £250 a year and help preserve our military heritage, only with your help can we continue to tell the wartime stories of the county and its people.
