Oxfordshire Yeomanry
The Oxfordshire Yeomanry history spans the development of volunteer Yeomanry units in response to external threat, their use (or misuse) internally, then later the highest standards which could be achieved by a volunteer body over the duration of the First War, to eye witness accounts of the relief of Belsen.

A wooden mannequin, “Jolly Boy”, a piece of dowelling fixed to his back and made to dance on a flat piece of wood.This belonged to Private T. A. Franklin, Queen’s Own Oxfordshire Hussars. At times when morale was low he would entertain his fellow soldiers with “Jolly Boy” by singing.
