The New Building
The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust is funding the construction of a new museum building within the grounds of The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock.
The Trust building at Woodstock will house the collections of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and the Queens Own Oxfordshire Hussars, collections which The Trust manages on behalf of their owning trusts.
It will house any collection of its own that The Trust builds. It will be the place for core exhibitions put on by The Trust and it will have exhibition facilities to complement others on the The Oxfordshire Museum site, for use by other bodies than The Trust.
It will have meeting facilities which will be available for lectures, receptions, seminars, dinners and conferences.
The building will be the headquarters of the The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Research Centre. This is where the research is done to find the stories from the objects and the archives.
The Trust will work in partnership with The Oxfordshire Museum to ensure smooth running of both museums.
