Schools Project 2011

SOFO Schools Project with St Helen and St Katherine, Abingdon

St Helen and St Katherine, Abingdon was invited to participate in researching and preparing for the ‘Children and War’ exhibition. Working with curator Julie Summers, and Learning & Participation Manager Stephen Barker, a group of sixth form students were given the opportunity to research the fascinating subject of boy soldiers. The pupils looked at several aspects of this topic, including the propaganda that attracted boys into the army during and the life and death of one young soldier in Mesopotamia (Iraq) during the First World War.
