Our Collections
SOFO manages two main collections:
The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
About 3000 weapons, badges, equipments and much more, and about 7000 archive items - letters, maps, diaries, photo albums.
The Queens Own Oxfordshire Hussars
Over 1000 objects and 1100 archived documents.
You can see some of these at The Oxfordshire Museum
in two small exhibitions called "Part Time Defenders" and "Winston Churchill, Oxfordshire Hussar, 1901-1965".
You can also visit two displays, one of each collection, at our Research Centre at Woodstock - by appointment on Thursdays.
Or, from the comfort of your own computer, you can search through our databases, where there are hundreds of images and huge amounts of information.
You can also research the name of one of your ancestors who might have served in the Oxfordshire Regiments - the list is over 90,000 long.
