Soldiers of Oxfordshire – Children and War Exhibition
OPEN NOW! FREE!
The exhibition examines ‘Children and War’ through the lens of the county.
It looks at themes from boy soldiers, war-time toys and games, to evacuees and refugees, and to children helping with the war effort, all seen through the lens of Oxfordshire. It invites visitors to consider some surprising facts about the county, which has seen over the last 100 years an extraordinary movement of children both in and out, beginning in 1915 with refugees fleeing from Belgium.
A stunning collection of toys from the Holley/Cornelius Collection at Bletchley Park will spark memories in children from the 1940s and fascinate today’s children as they see what has changed and what has stayed the same.
