Current Exhibitions
From September 2009 we have two exhibitions at The Woodstock Museum, both free entry.
Until April 2010, "Part Time Defenders", showing snippets from the history of the main Volunteer regiments from 1909, including sport, manoeuvres, peace and war.
Exhibits range from the fantastic uniform in this image to small items of personal daily life on exercise and at war.
And until September 2010, Our exhibition "Winston Churchill, Oxfordshire
Hussar, 1901-1965" illustrates how Churchill was an enthusiastic and effective TA soldier, and how soldiering was part of his blood.
This aspect of his life rarely figures in biographies. Some of the photographs and items on display have never been seen in public.
This exhibition was opened by his daughter, The Lady Soames DBE LG.
And, of course, there is also the small "Object of the Month" display.
