Am researching a story which takes place in England during the summer of 1944 and involves the RAF and the USAAF. I must say your site is one of the most useful and informative I have found thus far. Bravo.

Thank you very much for the information on my Soldier, Henry Kilbee, 2nd OBLI. I'm pleased that you have tied up some loose ends for me and that i now have a fuller picture of his short life. Both your information and that provided by the Oxfordshire History Centre has been most valuable. Some years ago i came into the possesion of Henry's Death Penny and have intended to find out more about him ever since. I now have more time on my hands and it's extremely satisfying to be able to write up his complete and tragic life story. Thanks for a great service and well worth the price.

A thought provoking exhibition, which in addition to telling a good story provided another insight to the capacity of mankind to do terrible things to each other. As long serving infantry officer (this is my 40th year of service) I never cease to be amazed at the resilience and determination of soldiers - regardless of their nationality. Thanks to all concerned who were involved in putting the exhibit together.

I've found two tunic buttons, one 7/8" dia., one 5/8" dia. in a gash box. Both buttons marked 'The Queens Own O Y C', which I'd never heard of before. Just trying to find out something about them. Interesting website, none of my family listed, though.
