Donations to SOFO
We are a charitable trust with the vision:
To be the focal point of interest in the history of war and national conflict as it has affected Oxfordshire and with the history of the regiments of the county as its core to promote understanding of the county’s role in war and conflict in Britain and the wider world.
SOFO aims:
To promote innovative, dynamic, and informed understanding of conflict and its impacts on the county, its institutions and its people by:
Providing material and expertise to assist in creating stimulating learning opportunities and inspiring visitor experiences that are relevant to 21st century audiences;
Collecting or knowing the location of, studying and interpreting objects, images and records illustrating conflicts involving the County and its citizens and people’s personal experiences of them;
Providing worldwide access to its Collections and expertise through innovative outreach and web-based programmes;
Developing partnerships that extend SOFO’s networks and complement its status, and that of the County Museum, as a unique institution.
The Trust is funded mainly by gifts, donations, grants and to a small extent, by our online shop. We are therefore very grateful for donations, of whatever size.
How to make a donation
You can help us by making a donation directly through our shop (a purchase is not necessary, just go direct to Checkout) or by cash if you visit, or by cheque or BACS.
The best for us is a direct donation via the Checkout (click "Update" after inserting an amount.)
If you wish to send a cheque, then a Gift Aid Form, which boosts your donation by at least the basic rate of tax, would be very helpful.
If you would like to make a donation other than through Checkout, please download our SOFO Donation Details (PDF) which includes all the relevant information.
And for the longer term, please do consider remembering SOFO in your will with a legacy.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
