The 52nd colours by 'EHL' 1880 (c) in wooden frame. Mrs Mcgraw inherited the picture from the executors of the estate of the late Mrs Elizabeth Ware c/o Mr E. B. Johnson The White House Duns Tew Bicester OX6 4JD. It was originally the property of Lt Col R. G. H. Hughes erstwhile CO of 52nd and 7th Bn and related to author of Tom Brown's Schooldays. He was the son of R. G. Hughes who also commanded the 52nd. R. G. H. Hughes had 2 sons who also served in the regiment.
