Gallery highlights include: ‘Battles’, the life of an infantry soldier at Bunker Hill, Waterloo, Nonne Boschen and Pegasus Bridge.
‘Blood & War’, discover how the frontline has changed over the years, first aid from the field doctor to emergency evacuation by a Chinook. Learn about Oxfordshire's role in reducing death rates through battlefield injuries with its pioneering work with penicillin.
Explore the 21st Century Soldier in ‘Modern Conflict ’ and his day to day life in Afghanistan.
‘The Secret War’ which surrounded Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire as the Second World war raged and code breaking, secret agents and deadly missions moved us to victory.
‘Winston Churchill, Oxfordshire Hussar’ reveals the importance of the regiment to WSC and his life long commitment to one of our county’s regiments.
The displays in the galleries are a fantastic resource for families, young children, schools, life-long learners and social and military researchers.
With a specially designed under- fives space and a diverse art collection with reading area linking the galleries to our research centre, there’s room for everyone to enjoy the county’s newest museum.
